New changes Point Calculation for Canada PR Migration 2011


Independent Immigrant/Skilled Workers



For Independent Skilled Worker Class Immigration, the application is considered using scoring system out of 100. Basically the scoring is based on applicant's background in:official language proficiency, education,
employment experience, adaptability and age. Here are some points in regards to the changes on Canada's immigration point system for independent applicants:

  1. More points have been allocated for applicants in a trade certificate or a second degree education
  2. The maximum number of points available for proficiency in both English and French combined has been increased from 20 to 24.
  3. The maximum number of points available for experience has been reduced from 25 to 21, and more points are allocated for one to two years of work experience.
  4. The age factor has been adjusted upwards, so that workers between the ages of 21 and 49 will score the maximum number of points (10 points)
  5. The new pass mark has been set to 67
  6. Applicant must provide a proof of sufficient funds that he or she will bring into Canada for the initial expense, see table for the requirement.
These changes were made in order to open up the category to a broader range of applicants with diverse skills and educations needed to enhance the growth of Canadian economic.

Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 176)

The points test is a mechanism used to help select skilled migrants who offer the best in terms of economic benefit to Australia. The points test creates a selection process that is transparent and objective, awarding points to the skills and attributes considered to be in need in Australia. The 1 July 2011 points test is designed to select the best and brightest skilled migrants who will make the optimum economic contribution to Australia. It does not give undue weight to any one factor and recognises a broader range of skills and attributes, focussing on:
  • better English levels
  • more extensive skilled employment
  • higher level qualifications obtained in Australia and overseas
  • better targeted age ranges

Points will no longer be awarded for specific occupations, although all applicants must still nominate an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) and have their skills assessed in their nominated occupation.
The pass mark is the total amount of points needed to be eligible for grant of a visa and will be set at 65 points. A table summarising the points awarded can be found at the end of this fact sheet. The points test only applies to applicants for the following visas:
  • Subclass 475 Skilled – Regional Sponsored
  • Subclass 487 Skilled Regional Sponsored
  • Subclass 175 Skilled Independent
  • Subclass 885 Skilled Independent
  • Subclass 176 Skilled Sponsored
  • Subclass 886 Skilled Sponsored
Information about eligibility requirements
To apply for one of the above visas, applicants need to satisfy the following threshold requirements:
  • be under 50 years of age at the time of applying for a visa.
  • meet the threshold English language requirement of competent English.
  • nominate and hold a skilled assessment for an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List at the time of lodging their application.
  • provide evidence of recent skilled employment in a skilled occupation or have recently completed the Australian Study requirement.
Applicants eligible for 8 February 2010 transitional arrangements
Transitional arrangements apply for certain students and former student visa holders announced on 8 February 2010.
They may also be eligible for points for an occupation on the former Migration Occupation in Demand List (MODL).

But in many cases, the fill up form provided by above url doesnot match with our PF account number. So you might have question that how to check PF claim status in epf site.

This facility is meant for EPF Members/subscribers/pensioners who have submitted a claim in any of the EPFO offices across India. Using this facility one can track the status of a claim so submitted. The only pre‐requisite is you must know your PF Account Number.
  1. If you know the EPF Office from where your claim has to be settled, select the same from the office drop down list.
  2. On selection of office, the mandatory Region Code and Office Code will get populated automatically in the respective boxes.
  3. Enter the Establishment Code in the third box – which can be of maximum 7 digits.
  4. In case the Establishment Code has an extension / sub‐code, enter the same here. It can be a digit or letter as the case may be and can be of maximum 3 characters in size. Leave this field blank, if there is no extension /sub‐code to the Establishment Code.
  5. Enter your account number which can be of maximum 7 digits.
  6. Click on submit to get the status.
Example: Case – I – PF Account Number without an extension/sub‐code to Establishment Code:

Suppose your PF Account Number is MH/35634/523 and the office is Bandra,
Select Bandra from the list as under:
Note that MH and BAN has been populated already in the first two fields.
Leave the next field – Extension – blank and enter your account number in the last field:
Now click on “Submit” to get the status.
As this is an non-existing number, we get a “No Record Found” message. In legitimate cases, appropriate messages will be displayed.
What is Establishment Code?

Example:: Case – II – PF Account Number without an extension/sub‐code to Establishment Code:

In case there is an Extension/Sub‐Code to the Establishment Code, say, “A”, then enter the same as under before entering the account number:

Now Click on “Submit” to get the status:
Again, as this is an non-existing number, we get a “No Record Found” message. In legitimate cases, appropriate messages will be displayed.

Note:

Please note that in case the claim is not entered in the system/software
for some reason or it is outside the dates as mentioned in the footer of
the screen above, such a record will NOT appear in this facility. In
other words, ideally, a claim should have been submitted and an system
generated claim ID should have been obtained for using this facility.
